Events
Where IQRM shows up: events we host, industry stages we speak on, and quantitative risk workshops delivered inside client organisations. The work is the same in every room. Make the numbers defensible.
Project Controls Expo, London
IQRM attended as a sponsor and exhibitor at the UK's largest gathering of project controls professionals.
The stand put one question to the community: what happens after the schedule is built? Most conversations landed in the same place. Teams are running Monte Carlo simulations on three-point estimates nobody can trace back to project data, and producing contingency figures that fall apart the moment a reviewer asks how they were derived.
CaSA Control and Skill Authority Event
IQRM presented on the move from qualitative risk registers to quantitative, defensible forecasting: what a Monte Carlo model is worth when nobody can trace where its inputs came from, and what changes when they can.
The session set out the IQRM remit in full. Quantitative risk training delivered in the United Kingdom, and advisory work on capital programmes across the GCC.
"Most quantitative risk analysis is opinion dressed as probability. It collapses the moment a serious reviewer asks how the numbers were derived."
Risk Decision Majlis
IQRM hosted the Risk Decision Majlis in Riyadh, bringing project directors, PMO leads and risk professionals into one room to work a single question: what does a risk-informed decision actually look like once the money is committed?
The session ran on decision problems, not theory. Where the risk tolerance barrier sits, the point at which a project stops being feasible, and what senior management needs in front of them before sanction.
Supporting decision makers in running projects and programmes.
Big 5 Global, Project Management Talks
Rami Salem spoke on the Project Management Talks stage at Big 5 Global in Dubai, on why quantitative risk analysis fails at the input stage rather than the modelling stage.
The argument is uncomfortable and it holds: a Monte Carlo result is only as defensible as the three-point estimates feeding it, and most of those estimates cannot be traced back to anything.
Highlights from the talk.
Workshops and client sessions
IQRM delivers project risk management and quantitative risk workshops inside client organisations, with the team's own schedule and cost model on the screen rather than a generic case study.
Sessions run for planning, cost, project controls and risk functions together, because the forecast a board sees is produced by all four.
