The problem

Most training explains risk management. It never shows you the documents.

You can pass three certifications and still never write a risk register, run a workshop, or issue a report.

So the first time you do it, you do it in front of your team. You copy the last person's file. You hope nobody asks where the numbers came from.

Knowing what a risk register is, and being able to write a good one, are two different skills.

This course teaches the second one.

The four builds

Each build ends with a finished file.

You work on a real project scope. You write as you go. There is no part where you only watch.

01

The risk statement and the risk register

You write 40 risk statements. You fill a full register.

What you leave with

Four files you keep.

A risk registerComplete, on your own project, written to the IQRM standard.

A facilitation packAgenda, questions, capture sheet. Run it next week.
A one page reportPlus the template you reuse every month.

Four finished files, on your own project, not worked examples.

Who this is for

Who this is for.

  • New risk managersYou have the job, but nobody showed you what the documents should look like.
  • Planners and engineersYou know projects. Now you need the risk documents.
  • You inherited a registerSomeone left. You got their file. You think it is not good enough.
  • Your first workshop is comingAnd you want a script before you stand in front of the room.

Not for you if you already write all four documents well. Your next step is quantification: the QRM Professional Programme.

The limit

This course does not cover quantification.

You will finish able to write the four documents. You will not finish able to run a Monte Carlo simulation or build a QSRA.

That is on purpose. Most quantitative models fail because the register under them is weak. This is the part you fix first.

Where it goes next

Monte Carlo, QSRA, QCRA, correlation and merge bias are taught in the QRM Professional Programme.

Continue within 90 days and £50 comes off the Professional. Enrol at £99 and this cohort has effectively cost you £49.

Questions

Before you buy.

Do I need a real project?
Better if you do. Then your four documents are real. If you do not have one, we give you a full project scope to work from.
Is this quantitative risk management?
No. This is the register, the plan, the workshop and the report. Monte Carlo and QSRA are the QRM Professional Programme.
When does it run, and how long does it take?
Three live sessions of two hours each, on Monday 7, Monday 14 and Monday 21 September, 16:00 to 18:00 UK. Six hours of teaching in total. Expect to spend a similar amount again on your own documents between sessions, because you are writing them, not watching somebody else write them.
The cohort starts in September. What do I get today?
The recorded sessions and the four templates open the moment you enrol. You can build the first register tonight. The live sessions are where that register gets reviewed, which is the part a recording cannot do.
What if I cannot attend a session live?
Every session is recorded and released the same evening, and you keep the deliverable either way. Bring the work to the following session and it gets looked at there.
Will you check my work?
Yes, in the live sessions. That is what the thirty seat cap is for. Bring a register, ideally one you did not write yourself, and it gets reviewed in the room. Deeper one to one feedback on a quantitative model is the QRM Model Review, which is separate.
When does the price go up?
£99 until Saturday 29 August. £149 from Sunday 30 August. Same cohort, same seat. It is an enrolment date rather than a countdown, and it does not move.
What software do I need?
Excel and Word. Nothing else. No add-in and nothing to install.
Do I get templates?
Yes. But you also build your own as you go. A template you have filled in once is worth more than ten blank ones.
